40 PC Formula’s Sophisticated Lady
Some could argue that one of the most attractive express cruisers on the water these days is, the 40 PC. Experience has shown that she is a sophisticated lady with tasteful flair that could almost boarder on minimalism. Most importantly this modern, luxury liner offers the best in hardware and accessories, carefully built into a durable, long-cruise adventure platform.
Ergonomically Designed Helm
Under a fiberglass hardtop, the helm is ergonomically designed with all engine gauges and navigational equipment within reach from the twin command seat, which provides a two-position bolster for better visibility. Incorporated into the helm area, are several steps that lead to the foredeck and through the windshield’s glass door. Up front, the massive foredeck provides a centerline walkway and a set of sun lounges to enjoy your day at anchor. The bow pulpit supplies a tidy anchor locker, complete with all your gear neatly arranged for trouble free mooring.
T
hree Distinct Entertainment Areas
The 40 PC offers 3 distinct entertainment areas; the first is the cockpit level. It includes a u-shaped settee that provides lots of storage and converts for dining or into a king-size lounger. This relaxation zone supplies a corner wet bar with fridge and optional icemaker. If you’ll be boating in Florida, you’ll want the ice maker!
The second entertainment spot is below deck and offers 6 feet, 9 inches of headroom. A crescent shaped Ultra leather sofa will seat six for dinner or squeeze two for an overnighter. The head is located abaft the sofa and boasts a separate shower stall and an elegant cherry wood vanity.
The third entertainment area is the sunken mid-cabin. This cozy area supplies an enormous U-shaped lounge which provides a second dining spot or transforms into the boat’s largest berth. It is also the best place for couch potatoes, boasting the largest of the three LCD TV sets on board.
A Chef’s Delight
Supplying and satisfying all your guests with creative meals will be a simple task thanks to the fully-equipped port side galley. This large food prep area is neatly organized with cabinets and removable covers concealing all the appliances the chef will require.
Privacy A Must
The master stateroom is forward and features a queen-sized, island berth surrounded by cabinets and hanging storage lockers. A very smart option that is available for the 40 PC is a small safe for your valuables. This is great to have especially if you spend lots of time ashore. In addition, the entire stateroom can be closed for privacy with a pair of cherry wood doors that lock.
Finishing of the boat is a giant swim platform which has plenty of room for a PWC or inflatable launch. The platform effortlessly lowers and lifts with a touch of a button, but is an expensive upgrade. Otherwise, the contoured stern of the 40 PC includes a jumbo-sized transom trunk for all your docking gear, plus shore power hook-ups and a wide transom walkthrough to port.
Specifications
Including the optional motorized swim platform, the 40 PC has an overall length of 42 feet, 7 inches. Her beam measures 12 feet, 8 inches and has a dry weight of 18,900 pounds.
Our test boat was equipped with a pair of 440 horsepower Yanmar diesels which recorded a high efficiency cruise speed of 26.8 mph. At this rate we consumed 18 gallons an hour of fuel and had a range of 335 miles. Top speed numbers tallied to 38.2 mph with the engine’s turning at 3300 rpm and the turbos at full boost.
A Step above the Rest
Our test time with the 40 PC was short, but where this cruiser steps away from the crowd is with performance. She handles tight turns without panic and delivers better than average acceleration. Best of all, she’s built to take on open water without compromise and do it for many enjoyable years.
