Layout
At the stern, a roomy cockpit greets the owner and guests alike with a beam width, molded swim platform. Conveniently incorporated into the transom is a locker with ample space for fenders, lines and cables. From here you can plug your shore power in at the dock and rinse off with a hot and cold water shower to port.
The aft cockpit area presents wraparound seating which converts easily to a dining spot or a roomy sun lounge. Within easy reach is a wet bar that has a small counter top and matching sink to keep beverages at hand. A pair of cabinets below provides plenty of storage space and you can opt for a durable stainless steel fridge or ice maker.
Behind the Wheel
Formula offers one the finest helm stations on the water. She presents flip-up bolster seating for two, a full gamut of instrumentation, and best of all, Lavorsi Marine throttle and transmission controls.
When you want go up to the foredeck, access is secure with large steps and a steel handrail. Another nice feature is the concealed and well designed anchor locker with tackle, washdown, and windlass controls, all neatly placed under a sturdy hatch.
The Cabin
Down three steps through the companion way and you are welcomed into an air condition cabin with 6 foot 4 inches of headroom. An L- shaped, Ultra-leather sofa is to starboard and provides a pair of cherry wood dining tables for meal time or can be used as an additional bunk when you’ve got guests staying aboard.
Galley Features
Directly to port is a fully equipped galley with a microwave, a flat screen TV and a large work surface. Mounted in the center is a deep sink, which is just next to a concealed, two-burner cooktop. Below the countertop is a roomy refrigerator/ freezer combo, paired with a storage cabinet and drawer bank.
Also to port, is a private head compartment that supplies plenty of room to use the vanity sink, VacuFlush toilet and shower. The head is nicely finished with quality materials and chromed fixtures.
At the rear of this cruiser is the aft cabin which has a plush, L-shaped settee and enough headroom to sit comfortably without feeling cramped. This area converts into a double berth, but with some unnecessary effort. With or without the bunk made, you can enjoy the large flat screen LCD TV while relaxing.
Completing the cabin is an island V berth with several drawers below. Although good for some, tall member of the family may have trouble sleeping in this bunk.
Specs and Performance
Looking at the numbers of this luxury cruiser, she weighs a significant 14,100 pound dry. She measures 33 feet, one inch long and 11 feet wide, which will guarantees comfort, but will require over 40 inches of water for her sterndrive propellers.
Despite her girth, the 31 PC ran top speed that averaged to 44.5 mph. A 3,500 rpm cruise speed gave us a good 26.5 mph clip, while also delivering a surprising 12.9 gallons per hour.
All in all the 31PC is a well equipped cruising machine for up to four adults. Her two best attributes are; an outstanding build quality, and stylish good looks. But don’t expect all this to come cheap. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
